“Inovação Fora de Portas – Engenharia Civil à Mostra” centred its attention on the "A Nacional" building.

The historic building has been completely remodelled and will now strengthen the residential offer in Porto. Dating from 1925, with original architectural design by Marques da Silva, it is considered one of the most emblematic buildings on Avenida dos Aliados. It's restoration preserved its history, symbolism and heritage value.

Architect Cristina Guedes, from Menos é Mais, Arquitectos, spoke to us about this iconic building in a conversation with architect Bárbara Rangel, from FEUP's Civil Engineering Department.
