Planning
Inapal Plastics in Palmela, included in the industrial complex of Autoeuropa, is dedicated to the production of plastic components for the automatic industry and is comprised of three cores unified by a large metal mangle that standardizes a design with different volumetric requirements: three industrial premises correspond to the different production sections (molding, painting and modules), a social area with two floors and a stand alone support building.
The rules of the project are essentially based on a dimensional standardization(module of 7m x7m), which results in rectangle with 2:1 ratio, and the adoption of prefabricated material so that the construction solutions are as rational as possible.
The exterior image of the industrial unit is defined by the facades clad with corrugated sheet meta land a large poly carbonate window that forms the front of the large container, allowing the life that takes place within it to be transparent. Small entrance boxes denounce the huge scale of the architectural object that, in its interior, contains a large patio/ garden that marks the transition between the industrial zone and the social areas.
